Last month, Dr. Brice Blatz joined Orthopbiolics leaders at the 12th Annual Orthobiologics Symposium for a LIVE roundtable discussion about the revolutionary Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT). This innovative therapy provides lasting relief, improving the quality of care for treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in the United States.
We are proud to have had our very own Dr. Blatz share his expertise at a conference that brings together some of the most foremost researchers, thought leaders, and physicians in advancing and promoting a standardized approach to biologic treatments.
This year’s discussion dove into one of the newest additions to the conference: Shockwave Therapy, commonly referred to as radial pressure wave (EPAT) and focused shock wave (ESWT). This topic was one of the highlights of this year’s conference – take a look:
What is Shockwave Therapy?
EPAT is a proprietary form of Extracorporeal Shock wave Therapy (ESWT) for patients who suffer from overuse or soft tissue injuries – or would like to eliminate the visible signs of connective tissue disorders. EPAT utilizes high-energy acoustic pressure waves to treat patients in a non-invasive manner, and ESWT is a treatment that involves delivering focused shock waves to reduce pain and stimulate healing.
Dr. Blatz has been treating patients with shockwave and combination therapy for a wide variety of applications and conditions such as:
- Tendon disease and tears
- Muscular trigger points
- Stress fractures & more
