Morton’s neuroma refers to irritation of the interdigital nerves of the foot (the nerves that run in between the toes).
Causes
The cause of this condition is not entirely established, but repetitive loading of the balls of your feet may irritate the interdigital nerves.
Symptoms
Symptoms include sharp, burning type pain by the balls of your feet.
Treatment
Morton’s neuromas can be injected with cortisone to provide relief.
